Monday, June 8, 2026. 7:00 p.m. Meet at the Dorian Parker centre in the park Tess Jackes Sunnidale Park is a real jewel in the West-ish end of Barrie. It is a 48-hectare park with various habitats including a beautifully eclectic arboretum. In early June Spring will be gaining a foothold and the bird song glorious. Among other birds, we’ll be looking for that master of disguises, the Indigo Bunting. Looking black and drab until the sun hits him at just the right angle, he is suddenly transformed into an incredible blue that indigo only begins to describe. His exuberant song is a delightful burble of cascading notes. Easy walking, bring snacks and water

TRIPS

A number of BFNC members have volunteered their time and expertise to bring you a great outdoor trip program. As usual we have some old favourites and some really exciting new ones. Although birds are a focus there will be something for every interest. Please join them in exploring the natural history of Simcoe county. MEETINGS

All regular meetings are held at Northwest Barrie United Church, 464 Ferndale Drive North, Barrie and start at 7:00pm.. Meetings are held in the Westennial Hall at the back of the church. Park in the big lot off Horsfield Drive..
